Hi, I’m Brittany Forman, certified Functional Nutritionist and Lifestyle Practitioner and certified health coach.
I am passionate about helping others achieve their best state of health through nutrition. Why? Because after a somewhat torturous relationship with food and my body, I was able to find freedom, joy and balance through eating real whole foods. After putting way too much work and obsession into every calorie and workout in order to maintain the body image I desired, I finally learned that it didn't have to be that hard. Really? You mean I didn't need to be tired all day, moody, measure out my meals and avoid fats at all costs? Really! Through discovering whole foods nutrition, I have truly found light and balance. I feel bountiful, energetic and beautiful. I want others to feel this way too.
As you can see, I was on a different path before this life. After completing my undergraduate degree at Dickinson College with a focus in Psychology and Women's Studies, I moved to New York and got a job working in finance. I worked at a large investment bank for several years and later moved to a small hedge fund in San Francisco. During my spare time, I was an avid reader of medical journals, nutrition and food publications. I found myself coaching my colleagues and family on nutrition and engaging people in health challenges. People started coming to me with questions on their health and what they should eat. I was loving it. Finally, I decided that it was time to get real. This finance route wasn't really me. I decided to pursue my long-time passion for nutrition and helping others achieve happiness using food as the secret weapon.
I received my training as a certified functional nutritionist and lifestyle practitioner from Functional Nutrition Alliance. I continued my studies at the School of Applied Functional Medicine. Based on the field of functional medicine and the study of the physiology of the human body, my education has included intensive studies of the digestive, immune, urinary, cardiovascular, endocrine, nervous (brain) and reproductive systems. I also attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN), studying dietary theories, contemporary health issues and topics, and Eastern and Western nutrition.
My passion, training and education have equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, dietary supplementation support, health/lifestyle coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on various dietary theories, whole foods nutrition, and human physiology, I work with each unique client to help them create lifestyle changes to produce real and lasting results.
I am thrilled to have the ability to empower my clients, friends and family with the building blocks to thrive and successfully create change.
I also work at Parsley Health, a cutting edge medical medicine practice with offices in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles. In my own business, I also partner with health care providers to help their patients and clients implement nutrition and lifestyle tools for optimal wellness.
